One of the greatest rewards I have realized in the field of education has been the purpose gained while championing student success in the academic, athletic and artistic arenas for twenty-two short years in multiple districts and multiple states. I have been fortunate to experience the tremendous responsibilities and emotional highs and lows associated with being a middle school and high school English teacher, an alternative high school English teacher, a coach and a high school and middle school Assistant Principal. I have been a Warrior, a Clipper, a Terrapin, a Seawolf, a Golden Eagle, a Warrior again, a Golden Hawk, a Wolverine and am now proud to be a member of the Musketeers.
These roles as a student, an educator and as a life-long learner have led to one fundamental understanding. Consistent action taken toward any goal with honest self-reflection sprinkled on generously will lead to the very word the Musketeer cheerleaders so loudly articulate, which is
S U C C E S S!!!! Its opposite, failure, I have also learned is one of the most feared words in any language and yet it has proven itself to be a key motivator for many of the accomplishments and maturations I have witnessed of current and former students and athletes willing to suffer the pains of continuously challenging themselves to achieve their dreams.
I look forward to what I will learn while continuing to serve the Central Islip School District and the Reed Community!!
